This paper provides a background analysis on visual animal systems, and experimentation on a servo-controlled owl, with rotational neck and eyes to mimic animal equivalents. The experiments include, sinusoidal neck motion, smooth pursuit, chameleon eye motion, and two movements of the eyes that have an underlying psychological meaning to them, for example; eye-roll and suspicious. behaviour. The experimentations took place on a Robotic Owl, adjusting Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) of a servo control to achieve rotation. Visual systems are used in various biological and robotic systems alike, it is therefore essential to evolve robotic systems based on the complexity of sight in living creatures. This technology is used in various applications such as; cameras, facial recognition, health care; just to name a few.
